47 - Pursuit of Eternity

As September arrives, it ushers in the well-known "back to school" season, a momentous occasion in our society. For children, it's a time of eager anticipation as they return to the classroom, reuniting with friends and embracing new challenges. Meanwhile, adults may find themselves grappling with mixed emotions, as they navigate the changing seasons and the commencement of yet another descent into the latter half of the year.

However, irrespective of one's personal sentiments regarding the academic calendar and the institutionalized approach to schooling in our society, there is an undeniable truth that resonates with every devout follower of Paraclism: the profound significance of learning. Lifelong learning stands as an integral tenet of our faith, intricately linked with the Fourth Keystone, which implores us to Endeavor to learn new things and be educated by others. In the realm of Paraclism, the notion of school never experiences a seasonal break, whether it be for summer, spring, or any other occasion. Age or accomplishment should never hinder the pursuit of knowledge. Life itself unfolds as an unceasing school, where learning becomes a daily commitment, with wisdom serving as the everlasting objective.

The Paraclete's wisdom offers a stark reminder that those who halt their pursuit of knowledge are, in essence, among the most misguided. Philosophers of old would have called them fools. Think! Even if one has achieved excellence in their chosen field, the thirst for knowledge should remain unquenched throughout their entire life journey.

It is worth noting that one aspect of learning often remains in the shadows: the realization that wisdom lies well within our control. This sets it apart from many other facets of life, such as wealth, titles, influence, or even admiration, which frequently elude our grasp. The pursuit of knowledge, however, is a deliberate and conscious choice made by each individual.

Each and every person bears a significant responsibility in contributing to the well-being of humanity. Ideally, this contribution would encompass the betterment of a vast multitude. In instances where that may not be feasible, a focus on a smaller group or even one’s immediate community is equally honorable. Yet, transcending all these responsibilities is an individual's unwavering dedication to personal growth and well-being.

When faced with the question of "How much progress can I truly achieve?" the answer is refreshingly straightforward: "As much as you are willing to endeavor." There is no necessity to await the whims of fate, for wisdom does not arrive through chance occurrences. Instead, it emerges as an active pursuit, with the path to wisdom illuminated by the unwavering light of continuous learning and relentless self-improvement. This is The Way.
