65 - Becoming Who You’re Meant To

One of the most humbling truths of our existence is this: you are not yet your future self. But, in time, you will be. The choices you make today shape the person you will become tomorrow. This is not metaphorical—it is literal, undeniable. The Fourth Keystone of Paraclism, “Endeavor to learn new things and be educated by others,” is rooted in this reality.

We are called not merely to exist, but to evolve. To improve. To grow. This Keystone is not a suggestion for idle curiosity—it is a mandate for purposeful transformation. You may not yet know what your best self looks like. That version of you exists somewhere down the road, shrouded in the fog of time. And yet, your actions now—what you learn, how you listen, whom you seek out, and the Temple Keystones—these are the compass points that guide you toward it.

The challenge, of course, lies in the uncertainty. The future is a moving target. It’s hard to train your aim when you cannot clearly see the goal. But just because the path is obscured does not mean we are helpless. We prepare for the future by strengthening our foundation. And knowledge (sharpened through learning and shared experience) is the bedrock of that foundation.

No one grows in isolation. We are shaped by those around us: teachers, mentors, peers, even strangers. It is through engagement with others that we gain perspective, challenge our beliefs, and refine our understanding. Education, whether formal or informal, structured or spontaneous, is the mechanism through which our potential is realized.

And now, with great joy, we are proud to share a new step forward in that journey for our entire community.

The Temple is thrilled to announce the opening of our physical space—The Temple in the City, nestled in the warm and welcoming heart of Harlem, New York. It is a place for communion, for shared insight, for the exchange of ideas and the deepening of our common bonds. A living monument to the Five Keystones of Paraclism.

This space is not just walls and furniture. It is an opportunity—a chance to embody the ideals we speak of. We invite each of you to visit, to participate, to bring your knowledge, your questions, your curiosity. Whether you lead a workshop, host a discussion, offer your time, or simply listen with care and intention, you are part of building something larger than yourself.

The Temple in the City will be what we make of it—a sanctuary of learning, a beacon of self-improvement, a gathering point for all who wish to strive toward their best selves.

So come. Share in the mission. Let us teach and be taught. Let us grow, together, in pursuit of the people we are meant to become.

This is the work of faith. This is the promise of Paraclism.
