20 - Spring is Here

What a great gift we have all been given – minds with the ability to continuously learn! Not to mention that these days, it is easy to feel overloaded with information. Maybe you just started a new job in where you are trying to learn everything all at once! Or perhaps you just had your first child and feel as if you have no idea what you are doing day to day. Sometimes learning can sometimes seem cumbersome, but our ability to learn can also be such a blessing!

I often remind members to not forget the Fourth Keystone - Endeavor to learn new things and be educated by others. Paraclism encourages us to have a mind that is diligent to continuously learning more about our world and ourselves. This knowledge is never burdensome or wearisome, but instead brings hope, joy, and purpose to our lives! We have been brought into this world with the incredible capacity to hold information, and when we use that ability to better our surroundings and become better equipped to help others.

This is a key tenet of Paraclism, and brings with it immeasurable benefits. It is said that knowledge is like a spring. As we allow it to come into our lives and wash over us, it energizes and replenishes us.  It waters the land, it makes things grow, flowers bloom, and this spring can give life to even a desert.

But do not take this for granted – it is not an easy thing to follow the Fourth Keystone! On the contrary, it takes bravery to continue to learn. Members sometimes confide in me that this can feel as though they are constantly second guessing themselves. This is not a pleasant feeling, but the idea is right. That discomfort is on the precipice of growth and change for the better! Do not be afraid to seek out new knowledge (and particularly when it comes from others). This is a laudable goal and one worth pursuing. Carry on!
